Got Meow Madness?

It had to happen. Bracket frenzy is upon us with college basketball, but now everyone is getting in on the game. Including the Hallmark Channel felines. How cute are these athletes?

I didn’t even know what brackets were until a few years ago. If you said football playoffs, then I’d get it. Not a huge basketball fan. But these fabulous felines might change my mind. Watch on April 3 at 8 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel.

Football, Felines, Food And Fufu!

Break out the dip, chips and snacks, its the great football weekend of Kitten Bowl IV! I know you’ve all been looking forward to it, but we’re concerned about field conditions given the weather. Seems the ground keeper plow puppies have it under control. Snow removal is on target.

There is also that other game between the Falcons and Patriots, but Kitten Bowl IV comes on first on the Hallmark Channel and repeats all day. Go cathletes!

P.S. So happy to know Fufu the predicting hedgehog at the Oregon Zoo overturned Groundhog Phil’s forecast yesterday. Early Spring here we come. Girl hedgehog power! FuFu rocks!

Confession: I bought Christmas bows last night. But they were on sale! Since I saw my first neighborhood Christmas lights ablaze on Veterans Day, I’ve surrendered to the holidays. Figure it’s a grand distraction from everything else and it comes with food. Lots of food.

So in the interest of a holiday public safety announcement, watch this video and learn. Yes, Temptations cat treats are Spec Ops Cat’s favorite. He approved this message.

Love And Grooming Make Fast Friends?

The Chicago Cubs won an amazing World Series this week and the Cleveland Indians played their hearts out. Fans lost sleep across the nation, except for the Hawaii folks, but we all had a grand time watching this amazing series.

Which goes to show you miracles do happen and we all can get along. I don’t think it is any coincidence that Election Day is followed closely by Veterans Day.  In the military we work as a family, at times dysfunctional but always loyal.

So my fellow voters, if cats and dogs can find love and happiness, so can we. Have a great weekend, vote, and Happy Quirky Friday!

Oregon Love For Louisiana Kitties!

The long weekend messed me up on my Tuesday blog post, but I did get lots of things done that involved furnace guys, cleaning out things and moving rocks. The glamour of it all!

But on this eve of 9/11, it’s nice to know that no matter what the disaster in our nation, we lend a helping hand to our fellow citizens, including the furry ones. A total of 31 cats and kittens arrived from Louisiana yesterday to help make room for felines affected by the flooding there and to bring some furry Southern charm to Oregon.

Remember those we lost on 9/11 and the first responders and construction workers we are still losing to illness fifteen years later.

Honor them by adopting a Southern feline friend in need as an act of kindness.

Do You Have A Babysitting Wonder Pooch?

The last days of summer are on us and parents might be looking forward to kids going back to school. Seems Blakely, the Cincinnati Zoo nanny dog, might also be in the same boat trying to keep up with four wild cheetah kittens.

We love our cats and kittens but give this fabulous working dog applause too. Babysitting is hard work!
