The teams have been training and the playoff games are almost decided. With the Combine looming in the distance for the NFL Draft, it’s that time once again before the big game. The Feline Football League Kitten Bowl II! While many folks will watch the Super Bowl on Feb. 1, the hands down favorite Kitten Bowl II on Hallmark Channel at noon before the Super Bowl is the true game of competition.

Pachyderms, Pumpkins and Holiday Movies?

October 31, 2014 By Kimberly A. Cook 2 Comments

Today is a very special Quirky Friday Halloween holiday two-fer. First up is Oregon Zoo pachyderms pulverizing pumpkins in the annual “Squishing the Squash” event. We’ve got elephants versus 1,200 pounds of giant pumpkins. Guess who wins? Miss Lily is even practicing for soccer or football using the pumpkins and plastic grey cans. She’s a little several hundred pounds cutie!

Next up is the Hallmark’s Channel launch of their Countdown to Christmas movie series on the link below. On Halloween. Yeah, I don’t get the timing either, except maybe they had too many new movies and not enough weekends? Also, know there are many other holidays out there to celebrate besides Christmas, so everyone can start their countdown for the holiday of their choice. Because the holiday decorations have been right next to the Halloween candy for several weeks now.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Halloween Quirky Friday! Don’t eat too much candy….

Received A Snail Mail Card Recently?

The sun is out and it’s going to be a nice weekend here in Oregon. Yeah! Ate my first ripe strawberry out of my garden this week, so life is good. I also have a new favorite tv show to watch; “Signed, Sealed and Delivered,” on the Hallmark Channel.

It’s about Fictional Postal Detectives in the Dead Letter Office who reunite letters, packages and people with the important things they mail. The characters are quirky, so of course I love it! Take a look at the promo for the series to give you an idea.

Have a great weekend and Happy Quirky Friday!

Now For Something Completely Different – Happiness

July 16, 2013 By Kimberly A. Cook 2 Comments

Author Debbie Macomber is one of the sharpest marketing minds in romance fiction today. Besides that, she is a wonderful person, class act and always takes the high road. I’ve taken classes from her and learned from her since the mid-1980s. She is a gem and a great storyteller.

In this world of 24-hour infotainment news, plugged in everything and people getting a tad rude everywhere, I am so excited her new tv series debuts on the Hallmark Channel this Saturday, July 20, at 8 p.m.

Debbie’s made for tv movies from her books have been on the Hallmark Channel in the past, but this launch is the first tv series for Hallmark and they’ve bet their golden crown on Debbie Macomber. Good choice.

With more than 100 novels published and 170 million in print, Debbie always shares with aspiring romance writers and her readers. She is very smart about her career decisions and learns from her own mentors too.

Check out the two video previews of the new series here: http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/cedarcove/video/Preview/CedarCoveExtendedTrailer

If you enjoy good stories, treating people with respect and dignity, and the novelty of not one car chase, this series is for you. Check out Debbie Macomber’s web site at www.debbiemacomber.com and see all the great things she does for her readers.

This is going to be a fun debut, so fire up the popcorn popper, grab the pets and snuggle in this Saturday. It will be a great beach vacation without leaving the couch!
