Time To Unleash Your Inner Pancake Chef!

There are few things I love more than pie, cake and cookies, but pancakes are right up there – fighting with French Toast of course. Today is a very special day because it’s National Pancake Day Eve! That’s right bakers, tomorrow is National Pancake Day! Break out your whisks!

So in honor of this mega holiday, the following video. HOWEVER, beware of the typo in the video, it is 2 TEASPOONS of baking powder, not 2 tablespoons. HUGE difference in a recipe. My favorite is blueberry pancakes, so feel free to throw in some berries too. Then there are the syrups to ponder. Maple or blueberry? Yes to both! Pancake toasts all around!

Ready For Some Ferret Fun?

One of my apartment roommates in the Army was Debbie and she had a cat named Kitty and a ferret named CB. Having never lived with a ferret, I soon found out they are like cats on steroids; three times as curious, smaller and faster with the brain power of a Border Collie.

CB loved my shoes so I quickly learned to be wide awake when dressing in the morning. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried to stuff your foot in a loafer filled with sleeping ferret at O dark 30. CB also loved to play in Kitty’s litter box which did not amuse her one bit.

So in the interest of Quirky Friday, here are some ferrets having fun with packing peanuts! Have a great weekend!

Clear the DVR! It’s Kitten – Puppy – Super Bowl Weekend!

I’m one of those folks who likes to be surprised, so it’s been quite the challenge trying to avoid the early release of the Super Bowl commercials. Mostly I’ve succeeded except for the whole puppy-gate dust-up about the G D commercial, (I am not giving them more press by using their company name.)

But an article in today’s paper about a commercial to broadcast during Kitten Bowl II sparked my interest, so here it is for your viewing pleasure. While we are all celebrating the kitten and puppy bowls, The Lucy Pet Foundation had a special effects pro donate 90 percent of his team’s time to make this important commercial about the importance to spay and neuter our pets. Bravo Lucy Pet Foundation!

And how did they EVER get those cats into mini football helmets? Have a safe and great Bowl weekend everybody. Happy Quirky Friday!

The teams have been training and the playoff games are almost decided. With the Combine looming in the distance for the NFL Draft, it’s that time once again before the big game. The Feline Football League Kitten Bowl II! While many folks will watch the Super Bowl on Feb. 1, the hands down favorite Kitten Bowl II on Hallmark Channel at noon before the Super Bowl is the true game of competition.

Spent the last two days in fog, literally, but the sun poked out today.  Yeah! A co-worker at the day job shared this video with me yesterday and it is too cute for words! Love to cuddle the baby panda, but he might not quite cuddle back.

Let’s Celebrate With Penguins And Skating Walruses!

Nothing says holidays like penguins. Well, probably not, but I’m going with it because I can. Another favorite Claymation Christmas clip is the spunky penguins and the annoying walruses (walrusi)? Anyway, the battle over who owns the ice. Power to the penguins!

The sun  is out and I can see how dirty my windows are, so what better activity before the holidays than to ignore the windows and watch skating animals? The big soak is coming this weekend to Oregon. We might get five inches of rain in three days, so prepare the animals for the ark and pack snacks! Shop today while we can still see to drive!
