Got A Naughty Dog?

February 19, 2016 By Kimberly A. Cook 2 Comments

I must have missed this video when it came out last year, but about 26 million other folks didn’t. This made me laugh. Not only does “bad dog” get up on the bed when his owner is gone, he’s got some serious dance moves too.

However, the cat does show him whose boss. Have a great weekend and Happy Quirky Friday!

A Cat’s Office Work Is Never Done?

February 16, 2016 By Kimberly A. Cook 1 Comment

Spent my day off yesterday working in my home office. Hallelujah! Not only did I find the top of my desk, I also managed to sort papers to start taxes. My goal this year is to make my C.P.A. faint by turning in my taxes early. One can hope.

Spec Ops Cat hard at work doing the office grind.

While I was slaving away sorting tons of paper and later out trimming my roses, Spec Ops Cat had the tough job of trying to find comfy places to sleep. You can see from the photo he managed to cozy up on his pink blanket on my desk for an afternoon sun nap. Sometimes he got up and tried to rearrange my receipts or step on the computer keys; a cat’s work is never done.

When he wasn’t messing up my keyboard the tech Gods did shine on me and I managed to get the photos transferred from my Samsung Galaxy SII phone to my computer by using the card reader I blogged about earlier. Of course it did not go smoothly, since at first I was trying to upload pics from my SIM card, but once I figured out I had to use the tiny SD card, it worked much better.

Accomplishing this task also shed some light on my email phone problem. Once I started to delete photos on my phone, emails began to appear. Odd. Dawned on me it is a memory issue. Turns out the mini SD card in the phone has a whopping 1G of memory. Really? Must go buy mini/micro whatever it is with more memory.

Everything needs accessories and more memory! Including me.

Got phone memory issues? Got helpful office cats?

Everybody is getting so excited about the big game this Sunday. Got my snacks and dip, chips and chocolate. It only comes once a year, so let’s party. It’s Kitten Bowl III!

Wanted to make sure you got all the inside news, so here are videos from the coach, a look at this year’s stars and a report on-location. Enjoy!

Have a great safe Super Bowl 50 and Kitten Bowl III weekend and Happy Quirky Friday!

Need A Doggie Alarm Clock?

January 29, 2016 By Kimberly A. Cook Leave a Comment

by Kimberly A. Cook              (Twitter@  WarriorTales)

I’m not a big fan of alarm clocks. Think it comes from reveille in the Army and Drill Sergeants screaming at me while in a sound sleep. Peeling myself off the ceiling is not a nice way to start the day. My clock radio with CD player wakes me with Maui music,  unless Spec Ops Cat sits on my face first.

So this big, furry, whiny alarm clock would take some getting used to, even if Caera is gorgeous and smart! Who is really training who here?

Have a great weekend and Happy Quirky Friday!

Can You Cuddle With Mr. Spock?

January 22, 2016 By Kimberly A. Cook 1 Comment

by Kimberly A. Cook           (Twitter@  WarriorTales)

Right now Nashville is getting hit with a snow and ice mess and Washington, D.C., is bracing for two feet of snow. I saw a news report about a new Blizzard Buddy app for folks to use to try and date while snowed in – creative!

Here in Oregon it’s 53 degrees today and rainy, so I wanted to offer some snuggle suggestions from those of us not being beat up by winter weather. How about cuddling up with a large feline who goes by the name Mr. Spock? He keeps getting reported to authorities for being a Bobcat! He’s not, just a big boy Maine Coon cat kind of guy.

Stay warm out there, take care, have a great weekend and Happy Quirky Friday!

Got A Squirrel Snow Plow?

January 15, 2016 By Kimberly A. Cook 3 Comments

by Kimberly A. Cook               (Twitter@  WarriorTales)

Sunday before last on Jan. 3rd we all woke up to snow. It was quite the surprise since we were expecting freezing rain at 4 p.m. not snow at 7 a.m. But Mother Nature doesn’t like to disappoint, so we got freezing rain later in the day too. Fantastic!

Us Portlanders who listened to the weather reports swarmed the grocery stores on Saturday; one must not be iced in without snacks and junk food. I’d filled the bird and squirrel feeders too, just in case they had those YakTrax non-slippy things for their feet.

Spotted bird tracks in the snow, but no squirrel prints. Until I saw this video, little did I know he might have been out working the power lines with our PGE crews. How good is this squirrel at plowing? Would you do this for peanuts? He did! Bet his nose was cold too.

Have a great weekend and Happy Quirky Friday!
